Reading market regimes

Markets do not behave the same way all the time. Sometimes they trend strongly; sometimes they chop sideways in a range; sometimes they turn violent and unpredictable. These broad states are often called market regimes, and a strategy that thrives in one can struggle badly in another.

The common regimes

Why this matters for automation

A bot does not notice the weather changing unless it is told to. Running a single fixed strategy through every regime is a common way to give back gains — the strategy keeps doing the thing that worked last month while the market has moved on.

What Dynamic Mode does

Dynamic Mode detects the current regime and switches the strategy to suit it, so the desk is not fighting the market with the wrong tool. It is a paid feature; on the free plan, Aria instead flags when conditions have shifted and suggests changes for you to make. Either way, the goal is the same: match the approach to the environment instead of hoping one setting fits all of them.
